Description
This Apex Optic Mount provides a direct, secure mounting solution for Holosun 509T Footprint optics on GLOCK Gen 6 Optic Ready slides. Machined from billet steel and finished with a black PVD coating, this mount is built to handle the extreme forces generated by modern 9mm pistols.
Steel was chosen over aluminum for a specific reason. A slide on a 9mm pistol experiences roughly 3000g of acceleration per shot. During testing, 6061 and 7075 aluminum mounts failed when the mounting rails tore from the base after a few thousand rounds. Steel eliminates that failure point, ensuring the optic remains fixed to the slide over the long term. This mount is manufactured by Apex in the Free State of Arizona.
The design includes a damper located in the cavity under the front of the mount. This damper reduces vibration and closes the light gap between the mount locking key and the slide, creating a solid interface.
Key Specifications:
- Designed for GLOCK Gen 6 Optic Ready slides only
- Accepts Holosun 509T Footprint optics
- Material: Billet steel with black PVD finish
- Includes two 4mm x 0.7 mounting screws with pre-applied high-temp thread locker patch
- Torque screws to 15 in-lb
- Clean the slide surface before installation
Fitment: This mount is specifically for slides with the GLOCK Gen 6 optic cut. It does not fit earlier generation slides or other optic footprints. The mount replaces the factory cover plate and allows direct attachment of the optic without adapter plates.
Why This Matters for Your Setup:
- Steel construction withstands repeated firing cycles without rail deformation
- PVD finish resists corrosion from sweat, cleaning solvents, and environmental exposure
- Dedicated damper reduces vibration transfer to the optic, improving retainer consistency
- Pre-applied thread locker on screws saves installation time and reduces the risk of loosening
- Direct mount design maintains a lower profile compared to adapter plate systems
This mount is intended for shooters who require their equipment to function without compromise under heavy use. Whether for duty rigs, competition, or serious upgrades, steel construction provides the structural integrity needed to keep the optic zeroed round after round. At $75, it represents a direct investment in mounting reliability rather than a workaround.
