Description
This Apex Optic Mount is built for shooters who need their gear to hold zero under hard use. It’s a direct-fit solution for mounting ACRO footprint optics — including the Aimpoint ACRO P-1, P-2, and Steiner MPS — to Glock Gen 6 factory optic-ready slides. Priced at $75, it’s a precision component machined from a solid billet of steel, not aluminum. The mount and all hardware are manufactured by Apex in Arizona.
Steel matters here. A 9mm slide sees roughly 3000g of acceleration per shot. Aluminum mounts — even 6061 or 7075 — have a track record of rail failure after a few thousand rounds in our testing. The rails can tear off the base. That’s not acceptable for a duty rig, a competition gun, or a serious upgrade. Steel handles that force cycle after cycle without deformation. The black PVD finish adds corrosion resistance so the mount stays functional through sweat, rain, and solvents.
The mount includes a damper that fits into the cavity under the front. It reduces vibration and closes the light gap between the mount’s locking key and the slide. That means less movement under recoil and a more consistent return to zero.
Fitment and installation details:
- Designed specifically for Glock Gen 6 slides with the factory optic cut.
- Includes two 4mm x 0.7 mounting screws with a high-temp thread locker patch pre-applied.
- Torque screws to 15 in-lb for proper retention.
- Clean the slide mounting surface before installation for best results.
Compatibility note: For first-generation Steiner MPS optics that use the original factory clamp, we recommend using the Apex Super Clamp. Optics shown in images are for illustration only — the mount is sold without an optic included.
